DON’T DIM TO FIT IN
How are you dimming your light in order to fit in?
Don’t dim your light to accommodate someone else’s smallness. We are all born to shine big and bright. The Universe is expanding and you are part of the Universe, so expanding is part of your nature.
If someone makes you want to retract, notice, and slowly back away; they are not for you and you are not for them. Better yet, find it within yourself to expand and shine your light anyway. Flowers don’t open and close according to who is walking by. They open and show their beauty regardless.
If others don’t want to be around you, or you make them uncomfortable, it’s because you are shining light on the fact that they are dimming to fit in. By choosing to shine bright you may just inspire them to turn on their light too. Or not. Keep your light on anyway.
All relationships are essentially an energetic agreement. The moment one person decides to start rising up and allowing their light to shine, it changes the energetic agreement and can create some waves. That’s completely normal.
The relationships that are meant to last will adapt to the change in energy. Others won’t because they were likely born under the proviso of ‘I love you, as long as you don’t shine brighter than me.’ That’s OK, not all people are meant to be in your life forever. But the lessons they teach us can still live on.

I chose this month’s oracle deck and card from Rebecca Campbell’s Work Your Light Oracle since we are now moving into the second half of the year. We remembered our light last month, and now it’s time to commit to working it! With the sun at the helm beginning on July 22nd, there’s no better time to shine than during Leo season, especially now that we have Jupiter in Leo’s support. We continue to nurture and go within through Mercury retrograde in Cancer and the second half of Cancer season, but now our cosmic cradle is more powerful as Jupiter picks up the handle that Venus left off with more staying-power. In June, we were guided to remember your light, to remember to be your light, and remember to boldly shine your light. Now, as we begin July, we’re ensuring that boldly shining lasts and continues on regardless of others. Does the sun ask for permission to shine? NOPE! As we shift from the moon’s season we offer gratitude to the lessons and information we learn when the light is reflected back to us, which is one of the moon’s greatest gifts. The moon will continue presiding over the current Mercury retrograde, the Mercury cazimi, and the Cancer new moon mid-month. I invite everyone to remain intentionally present in this reflective, reminiscent, receiving space for the first few weeks of July. Once Leo season begins, this month’s message will become more powerful, more potent, and louder as the cosmos roars.
Remember that our master teacher Chiron is now present in the early degrees of Taurus. As planets begin shifting into Leo, they will be squaring off with Chiron. Jupiter square Chiron is the energy we’re under as July begins, which hasn’t happened between these two signs in decades. Working your light and not dimming your light will be important lessons coming from Chiron’s garden lair. Pluto seeps into the energies later in the month as we build toward a Pluto/Jupiter opposition, which is especially influential during the Aquarius full moon; the full moon also opens up the second eclipse season of the year.

Without further ado, here are important dates for the month:
July 1st - Jupiter already flaunting in Leo squares off with Chiron holding steady in Taurus. Not dimming one’s light requires awareness, groundedness, and a loyal, thoughtful approach.
July 4th - Mars reaches Uranus’s odd position in early Gemini, trine Pluto in Aquarius. Information, ideas, and inspiration buzz from everywhere. Document, observe, enjoy the excitement, then purify, edit, and keep only what resonates.
July 6th - The sun in Cancer squares off with Saturn in Aries. This will give us the challenge in discernment to process whatever flies off the handle on the 4th.
July 7th - Neptune begins another backward tread through early Aries. We’ve experienced Neptune’s retrograde in Aries already. The fog of war review wherever we have early Aries in our charts arrives again.
July 9th - Venus is done being dramatic and gets to work shifting into Virgo. I’ve witnessed Venus in Virgo as an alchemical goddess. This isn’t Venus’s happy place, yet with a trine to Chiron in Taurus, and a meetup with the south node of the moon, there will be magick and an alchemical, slow-burn release to experience. The exact conjunction with the south node is on the 11th.
July 12th - A new Mercury cycle begins with the cazimi in Cancer.
July 13th - Venus in early Virgo squares off with Uranus in early Gemini. Perhaps something unexpected comes up that requires addressing or release in a relationship. Venus will begin squaring off with Mars next; don’t ignore whatever comes up with the Uranus square off.
July 14th - Cancer new moon (5:43 a.m. ET). The sun and the moon meetup in the moon’s domicile, almost at the same degree as the Mercury cazimi. This is ripe, fresh, new energy; craft your intentions with intuition and grace!
July 17th - Look UP! Venus and the moon meetup after sunset. It’s not as dazzling as last month with Jupiter’s (and Mercury’s) absence, yet it’s still quite stunning.
July 20th - Jupiter in early Leo reaches exact opposition to Pluto in Aquarius. It’s helpful to look back with this one. These two powerhouses climbed mountains together, meeting up 3 times in Capricorn in 2020. They squared off in mid-May 2023, and now they’re opposing each other, holding the cradle’s handles and balancing out light and shadow to hold sacred what’s inside. This is a potent part of the month and an overall configuration no one alive has ever experienced! Keep this month’s message pulsating and steady in your heart. This, and the full moon, will probably be the most important tests not to dim or shrink your light or yourself. Reflect on the timeline, remember what was happening in 2020 and 2023, and retrieve the precious gems hidden just for you in this transit.
July 22nd - The sun is ready for its own terroir and blazes into Leo, squaring off with Chiron.
July 23rd - Mercury retrograde in Cancer ends.
July 26th - Saturn begins backtracking in Aries. As with Neptune, we’ve experienced Saturn retrograde in Aries already. Both will be fully contained with the Aries flames this time around.
July 28/29th - The passionately building Mars and Venus square reaches exactness. The lover’s quarrel at play requires flexibility and imperfection for resolution.
July 29th:
Jupiter and the sun sit together on the throne in Leo sharing the crown for their annual conjunction.
Aquarius full moon (10:35 a.m. ET). The moon in Aquarius opposes the sun in Leo with EXTRA eccentricity, as Pluto in Aquarius and Jupiter in Leo are still opposing each other during this full moon. Chiron’s balancing the seesaw with a loose square to the full moon. This one is filled to the brim with so much potential energy with the overarching theme to let your freak flag fly, be your most individuated self, and DON’T DIM TO FIT IN! There are prizes and flower crowns for persisting through this energy. This full moon is also the opener for this year’s second eclipse season.
The Yod featuring Neptune in Aries, Pluto in Aquarius, and the south node of the moon in Virgo focal point persists through July as well! Venus will join the south node of the moon as the focal point mid-July. I provided more in-depth information and details about Yods in April’s newsletter. The spirits of transformation and divine connection are still encouraging and supporting release of something through the Virgo part of the sky and ourselves, now with Venus’s attentiveness, devotion, and love.

Keep looking UP this month! Remember the Venus moon conjunction on the 17th, and there will eventually be quite the line up in the morning/pre-dawn skies as Mercury and Jupiter become visible again toward the end of July and into August joining Mars and Saturn.
